Make these punk-y earrings from cheapo materials.
This is something to wear when you're feeling punk-y and want to be cool looking. And of course, it's popsicle sticks - so it's dirt cheap!

  • How to make an earring. Skull Earrings - Step 1
    Step 1

Transform your plastic skulls - I know this might be harder to find out of season. I got these at Dollar Tree last Halloween season. Anyway, Cut up the ring back, press hard to flatten in a bit, but don't flatten it fully. Paint the front and back, wait a few hours to dry and then stick to your earring base with hot glue or E6000.

    Step 2

Get your popsicle stick, mark 5" from each end, line as shown in the photo. Make two of those.

    Step 3

Cut with a box cutter or an X-acto knife and remember to be patient. Rushing it will only give you an imperfect cut, a wound, or a split popsicle stick. And we all know that ain't good. :D

    Step 4

Drill a hole for the jump ring as shown. Again, remember to put the least amount of pressure on the wood while drilling or else it will crack and you'd have to repeat everything again (not that I've experienced that or anything.......lol)

  • How to make an earring. Skull Earrings - Step 5
    Step 5

Paint with gold nail polish, again painting the edges first before filling in the front. After drying, fill in the back. Wait for it to fully dry, and then mark and tape like so.

  • How to make an earring. Skull Earrings - Step 6
    Step 6

Paint and do the same for the other side. Before taking the tape off from the first side, tape up the other side and use the tape from the first side as a guide.

  • How to make an earring. Skull Earrings - Step 7
    Step 7

Attach your jump rings and earring hooks and you are done.
