A simple card anyone can make that can be used for all occasions!
I did this for a teacher and it was fun to do. It says 40 mins but if you're an expert, you can definitely do it in much shorter time:)

    Step 1

    Gather materials!

    Here, what I used are:
    -Glitter (Not glitter glue)
    -Scissors
    -Card stock
-2 butterflies 'cards' (I'm not sure what they're called.. they're labelled Fluorescent Colour Cards)
    -A *star-shaped punch
    -Glue
    -Mounting tape (Optional)

    Step 2

Determine the layout of the coloured card (I'll just call it the butterflies from now on) and your cardstock.
Choose bright, contrasting colours to make your card stand out in a cheery manner.

    Step 3

I drew a line dividing the 2nd butterfly into half vertically. This is so that I may layer it on top of the 1st butterfly. Cut along the line to get 2 halves.

So.. This picture clears up any misunderstandings due to unclear instructions in step 3. Here, the yellow butterfly is the 2nd butterfly that will be ON TOP of the orange butterfly (the 1st one). I have (not depicted in photo), punched out star shapes with the punch along the edges of the yellow butterfly.

Do NOT throw the cut-out shapes away.

    Step 5

So as you can see, I have placed the yellow butterfly above the orange one. And the star shapes I punched out are arranged to show you the possibilities of the card.
Note that in the end, I chose not to glue the cut-out shapes on the orange butterfly side.

Also, when I glued the yellow butterfly onto the orange one, I put glue on the orange butterfly, NOT the yellow one. This is so that you may pour glitter into the cut-out shapes:)
I have also glued glitter along the edges of the orange butterfly.

Some examples of where you may place the star-shapes that you have cut out to make the card interesting.

    Or on both sides...

This is how I chose to make it in the end. (The positioning of the butterfly and the stars, that is.)

    Step 9

After gluing the yellow on top of the orange butterfly, I used mounting tape to mount the orange butterfly on top of this pink one so that it has a 3D effect. You may or may not do this, it's completely up to you. You may also choose to place the orange butterfly slightly off so that the pink butterfly shows.
You may also choose to place the mounting tape more towards the inner sides of the pink butterfly so the pink shows underneath.

    Step 10

So this is how your 3 butterflies should look after you've mounted them on the pink one.

    Step 11

Glue the cut-out shapes and arrange them where you want.

Oh! Please note that you should WRITE the recipient's name/whatever before you attach the butterflies so that it's easier on you!

Paste the butterfly where you want you want them to be. You may choose to use mounting tape to mount the pink butterfly again, so that it has an even more 3D effect.

  • Step 12

    And you're done! :)
I left out the photo where the name of the recipient was written down but I'm sure you guys will know how you want it to be.

It's a very fun card to make, and the possibilities are quite many. I hope you'll find this helpful and fun! :)

And of course, embellish however you want! Ribbons, buttons, etc. :)

Oh by the way, it's not a fold-card, as in, it's just the top side, and the bottom side. Only 2 sides. That's, at least, the way I did it. So I'll have to write my message on another piece of paper and glue it on the bottom side. If you're doing this, you may want to do it such that you may flip open the card. (fold-card)
