• 

  Step 1

  The first step in your project is to make sure you have a surface you can work with. Make sure you have 2-5 bunches of silk flowers I found some at the dollar tree for a dollar each bunch. You'll need the fallowing as well, Fragranced Potpourri (also found for 1 dollar at the dollar tree. 5 oz bag, your choice of fragrance, 1 can, bottle or vase, I found the vase in the one for mothers day at the dollar tree for 1 dollar. 1 sheet heavy construction paper, Floral foam (cut to fit the can with room for Potpourri, Glue, Ruler, Sharp Scissors or Wire Cutter. Cost's about 10 dollars

  Step 2

  The first step is to separate the bunches of flowers to were they are not grouped together, then cut them off at the base of the bunch to get a single flower.

  Step 3

  Next choose a color of construction paper. Measure the can in this case its 4 or so inches. Mark the line and draw the straight line with a ruler.

  Step 4

  Next glue the construction paper to the can. I laid the construction paper flat, then glue. At the end I placed the can and made sure it was secured on to the can and rolled it on. I pressed on the edges until it stayed on.

  Step 5

  After the construction paper is glued to the can it should look similar to this. I try to keep a color that goes well with the flower. since orange and brown go well together. If you have less of a color It'd be good to go with the color you have less of also. Say if you have orange and purple. but you have only 2 - 3 purple flowers but 10 orange flowers, go with purple.

  Step 6

  Place a piece of floral foam, a size that leaves room for potpourri inside the can. then add the Potpourri to secure the foam in place. crush big pieces if you need to.

  Step 7

  After placing the floral foam in the can it should look like this so far. Make sure you have enough potpourri on the sides, so it does not move around much.

• 

  Step 8

  Lastly arrange the flowers to a design that you like. Carefully look at the colors to see if they go right. It helps if you have a color wheel to look at or pre plan colors in advanced when your at the store. You may change the height. Below are some other ideas.
