Recycle your not-quite-useless pieces of scrap paper in style.
If you're like me, you have shitloads of scrap paper lying around.

It accumulates quickly -you know, when you finish the school year and you've still got seven pages left in your english book. You simply cannot throw those pages out, you have to rip them out and save them - just in case.

As a result, you have all different colours and styles of paper lying around cluttering up bookshelves and working surfaces.

I made this to organise all my scrap paper. I decided to share it just in case others have the same scrap paper problem as me.

I hope you find it useful. :D

  • How to make a box. Scrap Paper Box - Step 1
    Step 1

Using your scissors, cut the cereal box in half.

    Step 2

Lay them out beside each other and make sure they are even and nice.

    Step 3

Stick the two inside edges of the boxes together using the tape. First the top...

    Then underneath.

You now have the structure of your scrap paper organiser!

Make sure it's reasonably strong. If it falls apart once finished, scrap paper goes everywhere, and the world tumbles into chaos.

    Step 5

Lay coloured material scrap #1 out underneath the cardboard structure.

    Step 6

Give the inside edge a bit of glue-age.

    Step 7

Stick the material over the glue.

Keep sticking all the way around.

    Step 8

When you get to the middle bit, cut the material and just stick it either side.

    Keep sticking...

    Step 9

It doesn't matter if it's messy, because you're sticking stuff over the top. No one will ever know...

    Step 10

    Enter coloured material #2.

You should probably iron this one to make it look prettier. I didn't because I'm incredibly lazy.

Lay the second sheet of material out and fold the outside edges underneath (this avoids messy, frayed bits everywhere).

    Step 11

Cover the inside edges with glue, and stick coloured material #2 in.

  • How to make a box. Scrap Paper Box - Step 12
    Step 12

Reinforce with a glue gun to increase strength.

(You don't have to do this. This box is holding paper, not protecting your family from a nuclear fallout - it doesn't have to be THAT strong).

  • How to make a box. Scrap Paper Box - Step 13
    Step 13

Fold the bottom edge underneath again.

This makes it kinda puffy. It looks cool, AND it's more comfortable for your paper.

  • How to make a box. Scrap Paper Box - Step 14
    Step 14

Trim the middle thing at about a 45 degree angle (or whatever feels right at the time). This doesn't do anything, it just looks better.

  • How to make a box. Scrap Paper Box - Step 15
    Step 15

Repeat steps 10 - 13 on your second half, and you're done!

...See why you should iron material #2? Oops.

    Step 16

    SORT OUT YOUR SCRAP PAPER!

All your problems are now solved.
