    Step 1

Make the salt dough by mixing salt and flour. Knead dough until it reaches a playdough like consistency. Roll the dough out smooth to about 1/4"

    Step 2

Use your heart cookie cutter to cut out some hearts. Then, have your loved one press their thumbprint into the heart. If you're using a very small child, you could even fit two: one from each hand!

  • Step 3

Use the straw to cut a hole in one side of the heart. You will use this as a way to put the hanger on later. Bake at 250 degrees for about 3 hours. The hearts are done when they are completely hard to the touch.

Allow the hearts to cool, then paint with your paint of choice. We used Folkart silver enamel to get a sleek metallic look. When the paint is dry, you can hang these on a keychain or a necklace chain!
