Got an old pair of shoes? ... Read on
Basically, I had these old strappy wedges for a while and I decided to spruce them up with some nice chiffon flowers. I saw a similar style, but they were super expensive, as always.
This is a very easy tutorial and takes hardly any time!

Sorry for the blurry images/lack of detailed images,

What you need;
- Shoes of your choice
- Fabric of your choice (preferably chiffon/organza - cotton does work but not as well)
- Matching thread
- Pins
- Scissors
- Hand needle
- Lighter
- Hot glue gun
- Ribbon (matching colour to shoe)

    Step 1

Pretty basic, choose your shoe. I chose these wedges as they had a nice t-bar strap to place the flowers. You can choose any shoe as long as you have somewhere to glue the flowers on!

    Step 2

    Begin to make your flowers. Cut out squares from your fabric in varrying sizes. To make one flower you will need;
    4 Large squares
    5 Small squares

Cut the large squares as big as you want the flower base to be. (Remember it is not really that large as the pieces will be scrunched to create texture.)

    Step 3

Cut out the squares for as many flowers as you would like.
Round the edges of all pieces, you can pin the small sizes together and the large sizes together to save time.
(It doesn't matter if they aren't perfectly round)

Cut slits into the centre of each selection of 4, be careful not to cut through the centre.

    Step 4

Stitch the two 'clumps' together by hand, straight through the centre, tie off in a knot to secure.

Fold the pieces in half and stitch on the wrong side (the side not visible) through all pieces to create texture.
    Repeat the other way.
This is to create a more 3D look.

Note: I used alternating colours of chiffon; chocolate brown, to light shades of pink to create a more realistic look.

  • Step 5

To ensure the fabric doesn't fray, I used a lighter to lightly singe the edges of the fabric.
You can use clear nail polish to get the same effect but it is very time consuming!

  • Step 6

    (This step is optional)
To attatch my pieces I used a hot glue gun to stick them to a piece of ribbon so I could stick the ribbon on and avoid damaging the shoe surface with heat.

    Step 7

Place the flowers close together on the shoe surface, make sure they slightly overlap to create texture and not look to 'holey'

Glue the base of the flower and press and hold onto the shoe surface, repeat untill the surface is covered
