Reloving A Thrift Store Vase

  Step 1

  For this DIY I’m using a vase I found at my local thrift store for $1.99. For the custom look, I’m adding twine and repurposed jewelry.

  Step 2

  Feel free to mix and match - rescue old jewelry, use miscellaneous hardware or a cherished pendant.

• 

  Step 3

  First add a coat of Mod Podge to the rim of the vase with the sponge brush. Then wrap the twine and a necklace around the rim. Use clothes pegs to keep the twine and jewelry in place while the glue dries.

  Feel free to add more details to the rim. For example, I added a shell detail to the front using a jump ring.

  Step 4

  Once the glue is dry, fill the vase. I added rocks to the bottom then placed a bunch of pussy willows to the middle of the rock pile. The rocks help keep the pussy willows standing up in the middle of the vase.

  Step 5

  Here's the final project - it took under 30 minutes to add some funk to my boring thrift store treasure.

  Step 6

  I found the perfect home for the updated vase in my living room with the rest of my thrift store, dump and garage sale rescues.
