• 

  Step 1

  Cut a piece of fabric one and a half the length of your waist and the with of the distance from your waist to mid thy (or longer if you wish) Plus one inch. Sew lengthwise together into a tube and hem the bottom one inch.

  Step 2

  Cut a piece of fabric the length of the tube you sewed, and just over twice the with of piece of elastic you will use (I use 1"). Cut the elastic just longer then the length of your waist and sew the edges to make a circle. Line up the elastic with the edge of your piece of fabric and zig-zag stich the edge of your elastic to your fabric. YOU WILL HAVE TO MAKE FOLDS AND SEW OVER THOSE FOLDS TO GET IT TO FIT.

  Step 3

  Fold over the fabric and sew along the same place you just stitched, making a tube around the elastic.

  Step 4

  cut a long piece of ribbon and use the same folding technique to sew it onto the waistband you just made, leaving a long amount hanging off.

  Step 5

  sew another piece of ribbon on top of that one

• 

  Step 6

  sew the waistband you just created onto the tube of fabric, creating folds and sewing over them where needed to get it to fit, sew the upper ribbon pieces that were not sewn onto the waistband into two loops and let the bottom ones fall down. This is your final product!
