Catch all your pet's eating mess with this simple and cute food mat
I was getting a bit annoyed with Lucy dropping food and water all around her dish onto the floor so I decided to make things a little neater looking with her own food mat.

  • How to cook pet food. Pet Food Mat - Step 1
    Step 1

Use the bottom of your pet’s food dish to trace two circles in the foam board. Make sure they’re far enough apart that both dishes can stand next to each other. Cut out the circles with your exacto knife. Test to see if the dish sits inside the hole nicely. You may have to make it a teensy bit larger.

  • Step 2

Use acrylic paint to paint your pet’s name on the foam sheet. I started using this stencil but didn’t like how it looked. I then tried to fix it with that horrible curlycue on the end of the c. This isn’t my best calligraphy friends. I recommend just free handing it.

  • Step 3

Decorate with paint. I made my masking tape confetti stencil (see here) and painted several dots on the bottom and fewer up top to make it look like falling confetti.

  • Step 4

Place self stick rubber pads on each corner of the bottom of the mat. This will prevent it from slipping.
