Based on Perry The Platypus Cake by * Crafty Creator *
I used my own recipe for the cake layers as well as the marshmallow fondant. I found the perfect colors for Perry's body and feet/bill/tail, but I do feel like I should have made the orange a little darker. I also cheated and used large marshmallows for the eyes. Everything but the black icing used on the tail and eyes was hand made.
I walked into the birthday party venue and was immediately approached by a woman who wanted to know where I had purchased the cake. How satisfying it was to tell her I had made it myself and see her look of awe.
