Step 1 - Gather all items from around the house. The penny is just for sizeing.
You can add lace if you find that extra also. Cut the satin into circles different sizes adds to the intrest, and as many as you like.
Step 2 - Each piece of satin will have rough edges. You use the lighter to run along each edge of the fabric and scorch slightly do not catch the piece on fire, and keep a bowl of water handy just in case you need to thrown the piece in it. If you go this far it will be too far!!
Each piece will have a smother edge, but their maybe some of you that like a more burnt edge this is fine also.
Step 3 - Stack the pieces on top of each other biggest to smallest. using your thread and needle sew up and down right threw the middle, this is used to hold the piece stable.
Step 4 - Optional, on the back of the piece you will fold the piece in half and make a pass threw at 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch, this does not need to be exact. When piece is opened back up this creates the slight pucker of the flower.
Step 5 - After you have made a couple of passes threw with the needle and the needle is on the top side of the piece you may add beads. One at a time or several at a pass, this piece will be in your hair and this is a low impact location.
Once you have tied the thread off at the back of the piece and cut the string you will have the finished flower.
Step 6 - At this point you will turn the piece upside down and add super glue in the center.
Step 7 - After glue, add bobby pin and let dry.
This makes a very cute hair pin for any occasion and for the price you can make as many designs as you like.
I loved this so much I made a matching ring, by glueing the flower to a ring base. This soft flower takes it easy on daytime typing fingers.
