Same effect, with less mess!
I needed to make fake blood for a new act I've put together, but I hate how sticky a lot of it is. I did a bit of research and my friend recommend I use red dish soap as a base. Please note, this is NOT EDIBLE!!!

Step 1Combine your dish soap and food dye. Use a bit under half the amount of blue as you do red. This particular batch I used half the amount of blue to red, and it came out on the purple side.

Step 2If you use gel food dye, then you will get a perfect consistency. Regular food dye is a bit watery.

Step 3I decided to fill flesh coloured balloons with the fake blood, as these are less likely to leak through my costume before it's time! Also white cotton absorbs it the best.
