Can a Creeper be adorable? If it's in a quilt, it can! :)
I started a Minecraft quilt for my son two years ago, ( shown in the last two pics of the tutorial) and turned it into a sew-along. I still get emails about it, and people sending me photos of their quilts. It was so much fun! Our youngest sew along participant was 8 yrs old and sewing on an Elna mini machine, in Australia! These blocks are super kid friendly, and beginner friendly. My quilt was done in all solids, but I saw more than a few that were done in prints or scraps and they were spectacular!

You Will Need

Step 1Cut out the following pieces, using your rotary cutter and mat.
Green:
(1) 3 1/2 x 12 1/2"
(2) 3 1/2 x 6 1/2"
(1) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2"
(1) 2 x 14 1/2"
(1) 2 x 6 1/2"Black:
(1) 3 1/2 x 14 1/2" -
Step 2Next, stitch the 3 1/2 x 14 1/2" strip of black and the 2 x 14 1/2" strip of green together.
Then, cut it into (3) 3 1/2 x 5" pieces and (2) 2 x 5" pieces.

Step 3Stitch your block together per the diagram, stitching according to the numbered arrows.

Step 4You will have a 12 1/2" (12" finished) Creeper block. Great for a pillow, a zip pouch, or a quilt. You can find over 50 different Mincraft blocks and a giant Enderdragon over at my blog. Check out the link provided. This is a picture of the front of my son's finished quilt.

Step 5This is a picture of the back which includes the extra blocks and the giant Enderdragon. All of the blocks are simple straight lines and easy piecing.
