  • Step 1

I started this project by designing my item on paper and drawing out how I wanted it to look.

    I then thought about colours.

  • Step 2

I then drew out the shapes I wanted onto a sheet of metal.

I then cut these out with a piercing saw as well as drilling holes where I marked them.

  • Step 3

I then had the pieces all cut out.

I then sanded and filed them.

  • Step 4

These were my finished charms, made from aluminium.

  • Step 5

I then decided where I would place them and also made a green cord from cotton thread.

  • Step 6

After putting it all together I had this necklace made from the charms I hand cut and some beads I choose for my colour scheme.

thanku, no its sheet aluminium, so a fair bit thicker than cans. I hav tried making jewellery from cans as I do love recycling, but havent had much success so far... watch this space.
