Cute embroidered cards
I made these for a work friend and my parents, who were both moving house at the same time. I sketched the designs out first and then drew them on the fabric in pencil. I cut out a bird-house shape in the patterned fabric and tacked it on. In the 2nd card I made I cut a circle out first, so I could sew a bird in the middle. The roof, heart and little circle under the door are all satin stitch. I used chain for the bird outlines, with french knots for eyes and short stitched for feathers. The writing and chain are running stitch. I glued the fabric onto the card and added the ribbon.

I was pretty pleased with the end results, and I like an embroidery project that only takes hours not months to complete!
