  • Step 1

Put dates in a bowl. Boil water and pour it over the dates just so they get wet, not too much, and leave for 3-4 min.

  • Step 2

Hammer the almonds and cashews a little to make them smaller.

  • Step 3

Pour the excess water of the dates and put the dates into a food processor and mix them well.
Pour the shredded coconut into the well mixed dates and give it a little spin.

  • Step 4

Pour the mix into a bowl and put almonds and cashews into the mix and stir together.

Put a reasonably sized blob of goo onto a cling film and shape like a bar. Do this until the bowl is empty and then put into the freezer for few hours and you are done!

  • Step 5

    More versions:

Gingerbar: Put ginger powder according to taste into the date mix while it's in the food processor.

Chocolatebar: Put pure cocoa powder according to taste into the date mix while it's in the food processor.

Peanut butter: Put peanut butter according to taste into the date mix while it's in the food processor.

Try your own versions! I've heard people putting banana essence, raisins, more nuts and other things into the mix.

This looks so tasty!

It kind of reminds me of Trek bars that are vegan and raw.
mmmm Happy

I love Larabars, but I always found them a bit too expensive to eat frequently (even at Costco). Thanks for the recipe!
