candy sushi!
I saw this in one of my parenting magazines but I tweaked their version just a bit....

I made them for movie night. If they are a hit I'm sending them to the hubby in Iraq. ( I don't think they can get sushi there... .)

I didn't take pics of the step by step, but I am making more pretty soon so if anyone wants me to I will.

  • Step 1

First get all your ingredients together. ( I couldn't add them all on the list it was being funny. I will add them when its working again.)

2 cups of rice cereal such as rice Krispies

    1 cup of mini marshmellow

    1TBS of Butter or Margarine

Fruit snacks or Dried Fruit of Your choice. I used Lemon, Mango, and Strawberry. ( Next time I'm using gushers they are much brighter!)

Fruit Roll ups preferably a Green flavor. My store was almost out I almost had to use roll ups with Spiderman on them!

And last but not least... Wax Paper!

Oh and butter or cooking spray to greese up your hands!

  • Step 2

Put the marshmellows, and butter in a microwave safe bowl and melt in the microwave 30 secs at a time until melted.

  • Step 3

Pour in the 2 cups of Cereal mix well.

  • Step 4

Dump on to parchment paper. Now butter or spray down your hands this could get messy!!

Your going to work the mixture into a 12" by 5 to 6 inch" rectangle. I did this by putting one hand flat on top of it to squish it down, and the other hand like a knife to keep the sides straight. It takes a little bit of patience so hang in there.

  • Step 5

Now add your fruit lengthwise on top of the cereal. That means it will go across the 12 inches. I only used 3 colors but do whatever you want.

  • Step 6

Now your going to roll the sushi up. If you have the long sides at the top and bottom your good to go you just roll it from bottom to top. Use the wax paper! It is very sticky on the bottom. after you've rolled it up squish it nice and tight!

  • Step 7

Now place the fruit roll ups on top and roll them around the cereal. It took me 3 pieces, overlapping a bit. Now you just cut the sushi up and serve! Yummy!
