Just a nice and simple quick project that I made whilst crafting and playing with my new glue gun.
If you are having problems sourcing the ready-made pleated ribbon, please know that if you do have a sewing machine that you can find tutorials on the web of how to make your own! :)

Step 1What you need:-
*** Tools ***
Glue Gun (or Farbri-tac glue)
Scissors
Needle and Thread*** Supplies ***
Pleated Ribbon
Brooch/pin back
Piece of leather (or stiff felt/Lacey's stiff stuff - must be firm)
Button or cabochon for centre focal piece -
Step 2First, cut your base material into a circle to use as the base of your brooch. (Remember, you don't need to use leather for this -- felt or Lacey's stiff stuff will work great!)

Step 3Sew on the brooch back, while heating up your glue gun.

Step 4Working from the outside in, run a rim of heated glue and stick your ribbon around the edge. Continue to glue and spiral the ribbon towards the inside of the circle. Once you are close to the middle, cut the ribbon to an end.

Step 5If you are using a button with a shank for the middle focal, snip the shank with pliers so it will sit well in the middle.

Step 6Simple, eh? Really, really, really simple!
Remember if you do not want to make the pleated ribbon yourself, you can buy the ribbon already pleated from the internet (like I did!).

Step 7Experiment with sizes, different ribbons, different buttons .... enjoy them as brooches, as keyrings, as handbag charms.... just ENJOY!
