Origami for Mindfulness
Easy to make using a big piece of paper such as wrapping paper, the fusenbako can be a useful container for items of all shapes and sizes. Make a variety of boxes, adjusting the size of the top opening part when making them.

    Next pick up the sheet and fold it into a triangle using the creases just made

    Turn down the top point at a point 1/2in (1cm) from the tip and pinch the edges to make horizontal marks. Release and fold up the upper flaps so that the corners meet the marks just made.

    Now fold in the outer corners of these flaps to the vertical edges on each side.

    Turn the paper over and repeat the previous step on the other side

    Fold the top of the right flap down over the diagonal edge to make a crease and then release before folding down the top point to make a horizontal crease, ensuring that the outer edge of the flap now runs along the same diagonal edge.

    Repeat with the left flap.

    Carefully open up the top pocket on each side and tuck in the point folded in the previous step.

    Repeat with both flaps on the other side.

    Fold down the top point to make a horizontal crease and release.

    Lift the paper off the table and carefully start to open it out by placing one or two fingers inside the opening.

    Straighten all the edges and press the creases into place to finalize the shape of the box.
