Step 1For this tutorial, I'm re-using some old recycled wood. You can use almost any wood if you want though, new or old.

Step 2Cut your wood into three sections for the base and four smaller sections for the sides.

Step 3If you want to apply paint, I recommend doing this before affixing the wood together. You can paint all seven sections, or just the four sides - which is what I'm doing for mine.

Step 4Apply wood glue between the three pieces of wood that will make the base and clamp together whilst they dry.

Step 5Nail the four sides into the base using a hammer and nails.

Step 6Drill two holes on two opposite sides of the tray and feed rope through to make two handles.

Step 7Enjoy your new serving tray!
