• 

  Step 1

  Mix together the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt.

• 

  Step 2

  Place the butter in to another bowl and cream it until is becomes light and fluffy.

• 

  Step 3

  Add the sugar and mix together well. Mix in the vanilla essence and the egg.

• 

  Step 4

  Add this mixture to the flour mixture in the other bowl and mix together until is becomes tough and dough like.

• 

  Step 5

  Shape half of the dough in to star shapes and the other half in to coffee cup shapes (remember to make the handle so that you have something to hold on to when dipping). Place on to a floured baking tray and bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 350° until they are golden.

• 

  Step 6

  Allow to cool and decorate the star cookies with glace icing and silver balls.

• 

  Step 7

  Leave the cup cookies undecorated so that you can dip them in to your coffee.

Oh, I didn't have a cookie cutter for the cup, I just used a knife to draw it out myself.

Haha I tried making this just now but messed up the conversion so I only put about a third of the flour in! I rushed some in at the end but they're just really sugary now =P I also rolled them quite flat and used a tiny cutter, so ended up with about 150 tiny heart cookies
