Step 1Start by tracing around the CO+K scissors logo on to paper, using a computer in the background as a lightbox (it's a nifty technique which works really well) and then cut this out as your template.

Step 2Use small dots of blu-tack to stick the template underneath a sheet of frosted plastic. You can find plastic sheets like this in stationery stores such as Paperchase.

Step 3Cut around the template, using a pair of heavy duty scissors.

Step 4Stick your plastic scissors underneath a new sheet of plastic and use this as the template to cut your second pair.

Step 5You should now have two pairs of plastic scissors.

Step 6Cut long strips of thick black card measuring 2" wide.

Step 7Bend the black card around the scissors, scoring along the folds.

Step 8Use a hot glue gun to stick the black card around the outside of the scissors. Don't worry if it looks messy, you can pick excess glue off when you're finished.

Step 9Continue around the outside until your finished and then stick card around the inside of the finger holes.

Step 10Cut a small rectangle out of the bottom of the scissors with a cutting knife.

Step 11Slip some fairy light inside the scissors and place on top of your tree!
