Use two simple and cheap objects to amplify a room.
I've had crystals and a disco "ball" hanging from my window for three years. I really enjoy the effect of it because I love my room looking all cool and such.

  • Step 1

I HAVE A VIDEO HERE that shows the effects of both lighting elements. Below, I have all the steps to create this lighting outlined.

  • How to make a sun catcher. Add Unique Lighting To A Room - Step 2
    Step 2

Gather a disco ball and crystals. Take the objects and loop and tie string through like a necklace.

  • Step 3

Now that your objects are attached to string, you can use multiple ways to hang them from a window (the window should face the sun or you will have no results.) I attached the crystals with some simple tape (you could probably use something that looks more professional. For the disco "ball" I attached the string to a screw that I put in the wall above the window.

    Step 4

Spin the disco ball if you want the lights to shine and move throughout your room. The crystals will make small spots of rainbow spaced throughout your room.

The origin (It's difficult to capture what is actually happening because it's moving so fast.)
