Secret Garden

By Snippets

Secret Garden by Johanna Basford describes itself as "an inky treasure hunt and colouring book". Though we'd be terrifying of going out of the lines, the beautifully illustrated pages are just too tempting for us not to get creative. We've got six copies of the book up for grabs and for your chance of winning, simply upload a piece of your own art below.

Competition closes: November 15th

Congratulations to lururu, Annika G, hazelbontempi.frocktopusdow, Jessica B, Ruby J, and miss rose.

I really like drawing and colouring in. Especially when I feel a little sad or stressed. It makes me feel calm and relaxed. I'm working on my own story book. The stories are not my own, but the ones I love. I also use songs that somehow are connected with fairy tales. I made this drawing by the song White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane.

Pictures like these from the book make me so nostalgic of my childhood, spending time with my grandparents during which I learnt to draw and imagine (and so many more valuable things too). I'm not ashamed to say I still love colouring in, and I love to paint and draw in fine detail.

This is an abstract piece I created using acrylic paints, charcoal, and white pastel. I feel it is the perfect representation of my curiosity and adventures as a child.

Amazing book! I've always loved the idea of having a secret garden where one can be alone and at peace. My art submission is something I drew a while ago but I'm quite proud of it!

wow, these look both simple and intriucate at the same time. the bird cages really pop out at me, they're so beautiful. these illustrations remind me of the celtic themed coluring book I had as a child ^^
it's not nearly as good as these, but this is a thankyou card I did for a friend of mine. hope you like it!

I love color-in pictures! I was so obsessed with them when I was younger. I still am pretty young, and this photo isn't exactly like the secret garden ones, but I think that it'd be a lot of fun to color in. Happy

I love to color! I'm not so good at drawing though, if I can keep it simple it usually turns out alright and then I just fix it up with color after to make it something special. This coloring book looks really great, and I'd love to color it!

These drawings are beautiful, I can just imagine them coloured in with bright jewel colours! Here's my drawing of Goldilocks with the three bears coming home early Happy

I absolutely LOVE colouring in! I remember happy days sat with my Mum colouring in huge posters, our favourite was one of the Beatles and their Yellow Submarine, my little girl has just seen this article and her first comment was 'It looks like you should colour those in Mum!'
