that time of month

My mom won't let me take the pill. She wants me to incase of pregnancy, but something about the bones weakening if you don't have it regularly. At least that's what we heard. Plus I'm a very forgetful person. Happy

Eight is an early age I know. But months before I started that I went through the early stages of puberty. Height wise not so much (ever lol). My body was already developing in the obvious areas and needless to say I stand out in my elementary pictures. My 3rd grade teacher even asked if I was stuffing my bra and I had to ask her what that meant. XD

Haha aaw!

I've been on the pill since I was 13 and had a boyfriend who refused to use a condom. My mum didn't find out till I was 17, and she still doesn't know how long I've been on it for, but I think she's glad I am on it. I want to switch to the pill which stops your periods altogether, because my pains are getting really bad, but I'm worried that I'd get pregnant and not notice for ages because I'm used to not having periods.

I'm a bit old fashioned on my mindset that I'm not comfortable messing with the nature of my body... no matter how much it sucks... Tongue

you know that sometimes the pill might not even work? Your diet and weight are important factors that are involved. I have also heard that the pill can harm your bones

Diet and weight... yep, I should not take the pill. lol

Some pills might harm bones. But what my mom and I heard is that periods help strengthen bones. When a cycle happens the body releases progesterone and stimulates production of osteoblasts. And those osteoblasts help build new bone. In the long run women who were never on that sort of birth control tended to have stronger bones than those who did use them. Don't have an exact site that explains, but we heard from both my health teacher and a doctor.

Well it works for me. That or I'm infertile, because me and Tim were together for 18 months and for about 15 months of that our only protection was the pill, and it wasn't a problem. Everyone's individual, stuff just reacts different ways with different bodies.

I'll probably use it when I'm positive my body's grown out. I love the sound of hardly ever having a period though. lol

How old are you Jessica? If you don't mind me asking =)

I get on with the pill, and I'd definitely rather get it than the alternatives - I know someone who is now infertile because of the coil, and I hate the implant thing, it's horrible, you can feel it in your arm!

17 on the outside 7 in the inside.

Other stuff scares me to. I don't want an object inside of me or else if I did I'd want to give it a name. XD

In general I feel like the pill is the best bet anyway- Its been around (in some form) since 1969 (Summer of LOVE lol). Other types of B/C are newer and don't have the long track record and studies done with the pill. Or at least that is how I feel.

I've never been on the pill, I have enough hormones as it is lol. I'm glad now after reading about it weakening the bones as both my mum and gran have/had osteoporosis so I'd be at risk of that anyway.

Chocolate helps with everything lol

As with anything you need to look into it. I got everything explained to me by a very nice lady when I got mine so I know all about the side effects and risks and things. You also need to get regular checks to make sure it's still healthy for you
