Sewing your own wardrobe

I want to learn as much sewing as possible..! So far all I've done is altering T-shirts, but I recently started on a vest and hope to try more difficult things later on. ^^
Making your own warderobe, in my opinion, is one of the greatest things - you'll always have that unique look that only you've got! And you can be proud of what you've done too.

Last night I was restless and made a dress out of this massive scarf my mum didn't want. It's like, the ugliest thing ever - orange with big red flowers. I LOVE it.

Ahh, i'd love to make more clothing, but i never seem to be very good at it. My stitches aren't very strong, i'm not used to which stitch to use with which fabric etc etc. I wish i was better at it!

I was bored the other night too KK and I gathered all my scraps and stuff I had cut up already. I had one top half of a skirt that was previously too long and one frilly bottom piece that belonged to a dress that had been too long(I altered the dress)

So I sewed the two together and added a red ribbon along the seam(coz even though I used a machine, I could not be bothered to fold the lines properly Tongue) And it looks lovely Happy Will take pics.

I do need some help on the dress I altered though. I bought it in a outlet store, so the zip is a bit wonky on the back. Again I will come back with a photo to explain my problem.

Here is the skirt I made. The bottom part has a kind of holey pattern in it, crappy picture sorry. The top was also a dress, but I grew hips and it didn't fit anymore lol So I cut it up.

Well that didn't work like I thought it would... Ignore my last post. lol

So I WOULD LOVE to make my own clothes, but I don't have a sewing machine, and hand-sewing an entire wardrobe is just TO HARD. I really want a sewing machine, but I just don't have the money.

I would love to be able to sew my entire own wardrobe and am working on moving past shirts (I have a dress on the go right now...hopefully will be done tonight!!!) But at the same time I love to have unique pieces by independant designers, so I love a nice mix of the two.

I've been trying to have my wardrobe for the last 6 years, and I'm pretty much right on now. I only buy things that are super cheap ((like a $10 emily the strange tee)) or somethign i coudln't make myself, like killer heels Happy

Every day I wear at least one item of clothing I've made myself. Usually it's more ;D

I'm no where near that good at sewing to make wearable clothing. My forte is more bags/corsets. But I wear/use those! Just not on a daily basis :\

I have a dream of sewing my own wardrobe!
I live in South Korea where EVERYONE is like tiny! And I am BIG and CURVY! So I have a real hard time finding anything that a) doesn't squash my girls so I can't breath, b) fits my waist ( which is like 2 sizes smaller than my arse) and c) actually looks nice, not something like a mumu!

Northernstar@ thanks for the website ! I just got a whole lot of fabric today so I can't wait to start!!!!
