DIY Chiffon Shirt

Recreate the look with Jennie's DIY Chiffon Shirt tutorial:

How would you describe your style?

I'd say I try to stay on trend but add an alternative twist by adding a band tee or a leather jacket to any outfit. I love patterns and fabrics, my favourites at the moment being tartan and leather. I also love layering items and pairing fitted with oversized to add a feminine twist to a oversized cut.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

Probably, my leather jacket. I bought it years ago from Miss Sefridge but didn't really like the way it fitted. So instead of spending £50 or more on the perfect jacket I customised it myself. Adding studs, zips and removing the elasticated bottom created my perfect jacket!

Who are your style icons?

Celebrity inspired I love Jamela Jamil, Fearne Cotton and Miley Cyrus. They all keep on trend but make it look so effortless and not overdone, which I love. But more than anything i love streetstyle and think the everyday girls in England have great style. That's why i love blogging, it's the most inspiring place.

Do you have any favourite designers?

I love the work of marchesa and Elie Saab, their work is just sensational to look at. But obviously that's way out of my price range. I also adore Burberry, a trench coat will one day be in my closet, i promise!

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

I love bargain hunting, so i'm a big ebay addict. I never look at an item how it's sold, i always consider how i can alter it or style it. I do love H&M for cheap knitwear, Missguided is great for dresses, and obviously Topshop and Primark.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

Yes, I love making new things, it just feels so much nicer knowing it's unique and you spent time making it how you love. I'm no fashion designer so I tend to stick to customising things such as adding embellishment or my new favourite thing is to stud everything.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

The best thing i've learnt is to dress how you want to. For years i'd spend money on lovely items but never had the confidence to wear them if noone else was. But now i don't care, and i love it! There's nothing wrong with taking inspiration from others, it's not copying if their look made a light bulb go off in your head. At the moment a great way to add to an outfit is to add a cute collar, some studs to the shoulders or add some cute socks.

How would you describe your style?

Hm,I think my style is always a bit girly as I love dresses and skirts (I don´t own proper trousers). At the moment I love to add a bit of "gothic chic",it can change the whole look and makes it a bit more edgy.I guess, this is my style now.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

I would say that my favourite piece is definitely my little black lace dress,it is so versatile and I just love to wear it.

Who are your style icons?

Kate Moss! She has a great style and even when she wears something super simple it looks gorgeous.

Do you have any favourite designers?

Actually no, but I like Karl Lagerfeld.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

H&M (I have an addiction),Gina Tricot,New Look oh and Ebay, I found amazing pieces there.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

No,not yet. I am really bad at sewing :)

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

I like to mix lace with everything and I have a nice collection of jewellery (it always changes a look if you want to)..Otherwise just wear what makes you feel comfortable-that´s the best personalised outfit, I guess.

DIY Tribal Shorts

How would you describe your style?

I’d like to think that my style is effortless, unique and always classic.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

My good bra - I’m not a busty girl and my bra has made many good outfits great! Bad underwear can ruin a look.

Who are your style icons?

Definitely Rachel Bilson! Her style is so very versatile. She always looks beautiful and stylish, whether it is wearing jeans and slops while walking her dog or rocking a couture gown on the red carpet.

Do you have any favourite designers?

Even though I don’t own any of her pieces, I absolutely adore Diane von Furstenberg. I constantly have an eye on her collections for my personal style inspiration.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

Online :D my latest is www.mrp.co.za online store. They have all the latest trends at ridiculous prizes.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

As often as I can. Being a crafty girl I make, alter or recycle clothes almost daily.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

Take risks, know your body, what you like, and always be comfortable.

Upcycled Winter Wear From Sweater

How would you describe your style?

Ever since I was a kid, I've been a throwback to the 50's and 60s. While I love 30's-50's style, 60's is definitely more comfortable. My closet is full of maxi-dresses, strapless shirts, peasant skirts, wrap dresses/tops, moccasins, and strappy leather sandals.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

My Moccasins. I will wear them with anything and everything! If we're talking about actual clothing, I have several peasant skirts that I like to pull up into strapless dresses and wear with belts. They're a summer staple for me.

Who are your style icons?

...this is a really good question. I don't think I've ever looked at anyone and thought 'I want to dress like him/her!'. I generally just go with my mood, especially when it comes to colors. I go through periods where everything I wear is obnoxiously bright, and then earth tone periods, a well.

Do you have any favourite designers?

Nope! I'm not even sure I could name any, other than Vera Wang, and that's only because my sister is obsessed with her dresses.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

Thrift stores! I'm also a fan of Soul Flower.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I make almost all of my outfits. I used to be an office girl, so I do have a small section of my closet that has dress pants and button-ups/turtle-neck sweaters. The rest of it is mostly stuff I made from scratch or refashioned from the thrift-store.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

Go outside of your comfort zone! I had always worn the same type of clothes, in the same colors (earthtones...lots and lots of earthtones), but I've never felt as 'me' as I have since I broke outside of my own barriers. I wear red, now, for instance, which is supposed to be a big 'no no' for redheads.  Pick a few staple pieces, and then build your outfits around those. I have a few pair of skinny jeans (I hate skinny jeans, but they fit comfortably inside my boots) that I've built several outfits around. I have an accumulation of cheap/easy-to-make dresses that I can style completely different with various belts, leggings, and shoes. Wear what's comfortable for you, but don't be afraid to try something new!

DIY Studded & Frayed Shorts & Pyramid Circular Necklace

Recreate the look with Saran's DIY Studded & Frayed Shorts and DIY Pyramid Ring Necklace tutorials:

How would you describe your style?

I don’t seem to be able to describe my own style, even though my friends do! I quite enjoy experimenting different styles so it’s a little difficult to define my style. Although most of the time I would probably say that my style is laid-back boho, to suit the hot weather in Borneo.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

At the moment I can’t seem to get enough of my 11” metallic leather satchel from The Cambridge Satchel Company! I’ve been a fan of theirs from the beginning and am a guilty owner of 4 beautiful satchels...

Who are your style icons?

Nicole Richie, Lucy Liu and people who are not afraid to dress differently!

Do you have any favourite designers?

I love Balmain because their pieces are so edgy, Mary Katrantzou for her loud graphic prints, Farah Khan for her exquisite dresses, Sereni & Shentel for their delicious headbands and Havaianas for creating the comfiest flip flops ever!

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

I prefer hitting the sales, or finding a good bargain in search of new clothes. I love sourcing vintage and charity shops to find hidden treasures. One learns to have a keen eye when you’re on a tight budget! Otherwise, I’m usually to be found checking out H&M, ASOS or other local boutiques in Malaysia.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I make and customise more accessories than clothing because I don’t have a clue on how to do complicated sewing! One of the reasons why I got into DIY was when one day I saw an expensive wrap bracelet, fell in love with it but couldn’t justify its pricetag. This then motivated me to figure out how to make my own personalised wrap bracelet at a fraction of the price! It's the same with doing my own nail art as manicures can be such an unnecessary expense.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

I like mixing a little vintage or DIY with what I am wearing to give my outfit a more personalised feel because I like being a little different. It is very rewarding in itself when somebody tells you they like what you're wearing and then realise that you actually made/customised it! We only live once so we shouldn't be afraid to dress up and have some fun! Lastly, do dress according to your body shape because in that way, you'll be able to express your style better.
