How would you describe your style?

It is so difficult to put my style into words since it is constantly changing and for the fact that I am unsure exactly what to title my mix of fashion styles. If I could describe my style a good made up name would be Eclectic vintage trend. I often find myself looking back to history and adding a fun new twist to make them more modern.

Who are your style icons?

Tough one again! If forced to pick one I believe I'd go with the ever lovely Alexa Chung.

Do you have any favourite designers?

es! I am a huge fan of Filippa Knutsson. She is a Swedish designer who brings simplicity to a whole new level. I love all the dark colors she uses, obsessed!

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

You can often find me in the thrift store, but if I do decide to go out and pay full price for something I enjoy shopping at Topshop, Acne, Modcloth, H&M, ASOS, and Urban Outfitters.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

Unfortunately I have not fully gotten into making my own clothes. I enjoy adding pockets or some sparkle to items. Often times I'll hem dresses that I find at the Goodwill. However, I'd love to get into fully making my own clothes one day!

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

Acessories. I feel like they are often forgotten but are so essential for taking any garment and letting your personal style shine through. Either a belt, scarf, rings, necklaces, or all of the above!

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

So hard to say! I suppose at the moment I am really in love with an orange, floral, 1950's, new look style dress that I found at an Etsy shop called Mable Rose. I wear it every time I get the opportunity!

Who are your style icons?

Definitely Audrey Hepburn and other old movie actresses- I just adore watching movies from the 40's and 50's- it's amazing to see how the clothes move and flow.

Do you have any favourite designers?

I love Dior and Oscar de la Renta- their designs are so romantic and gorgeous!

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

Etsy, without question! Where I live, it's so hard to find good vintage pieces. Etsy makes my dreams of a vintage wardrobe come true- it's so practical and easy to use- I can spend hours on there.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I have made some of my clothes before- I mainly try and wing it- sometimes it turns out, sometimes not- I am a lazy seamstress and neglect to use patterns- haha! Though, sewing does come in handy because I often have to take in my clothes.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

I suppose the best advice I have is not to be afraid to wear what you love! We live in a time that allows you to get away with pretty much anything style-wise... any trend, any era- it's fantastic!

Which other fashion blogs do you love to read?

I recently stumbled across Esme and the Laneway- LOVE it! Her style is so beautifully vintage- it's so inspiring!

DIY Sequin Embellished Trench Coat

How would you describe your style?

Fashion is always evolving and I'm interested in new trends, but there are some garments I'm always drawn to like faux furs and aran jumpers for winter, animal prints, vintage jewelry and studded accessories.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

My leather jacket. I think it adds something to any outfit. It looks good on a jeans and tee look and it's also terrific on a  girly cocktail dress.

Who are your style icons?

My granma, she had a great taste and a great influence in my life, her elegance and grace are unforgettable.  When I look at her pictures she is always perfectly dressed. She often crafted her clothes and she was a fine embroiderer.

Do you have any favourite designers?

I have a big admiration for Alexander McQueen, his work was inspiring on so many levels, both for the quality of craftsmanship and for the creative vision that went beyond clothes.  His runway shows were artistic performances.  Giorgio Armani is the master of elegance. Armani Privè collections embody the dream of couture and luxury. Miuccia Prada is avant garde, her shows are often object of debates, but her vision slowly becomes predominant until everyone wants to buy her clothes.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

I buy a lot of fabrics. Everywhere I go I look for fabrics shops and buy a few meters of fabric, so I buy a lot of “clothes to be”.

I like to shop for shoes more than clothes and I love quality italian shoes above all.

I like to shop at Ovs, Asos, Topshop, Zara, H&M, Denny Rose, Coin among others.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

I like to customize what I wear and add a personal touch to an outfit with accessories I make. I'll knit a few jumpers for winter and I'm planning to sew a couple of party dresses for the holiday season.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

Even the most classical outfit becomes special with one statement accessory, a necklace or a belt. You can buy an inexpensive dress and spend on shoes that catches attention and you can match a print with a bright color for look that pop.

How would you describe your style?

Very cartoony! I love anything bright and colourful and really bold patterns. I once worked in a primary school and the kids found it really easy to paint and draw my outfits- I took that as a good sign.

What's your favourite piece in your wardrobe?

Oh gosh I have sooo many. I'm such a dress hoarder; I will never be able to have enough pretty dresses. My favourites would have to be my skunk dress and my toucan dress

Who are your style icons?

Hmm that's a really hard one! I'm not really sure. I think I'd have to go more for genres than people! I love theatrical clothing and I think a lot of my outfits are really costumy. I've always been really inspired by stage costumes and anything where the way someone dresses clearly has to represent who that person is and what they're about.

Do you have any favourite designers?

I love Christian Lacroix for his mental designs and Agatha Ruiz Dela Prada because she's not afraid of colour one little bit.

Where are your favourite places to shop for new clothes clothes?

We have an amazing vintage shop called Armstrongs down our road which is fabulous; if you visit Edinburgh it is a must. Apart from that I am a big fan of Lazy Oaf.

Do you make or customise your outfits?

Yeeeeah! I Make most of my dresses myself. I just love starting off with a piece of fabric and then a couple of hours later being able to wear a dress. I love printing my own fabrics too; I think it makes my designs really personal.

Do you have any great tips for mixing up and personalising an outfit?

I think just do what makes you feel most like you. I love wearing bright opaque tights and garish prints but only because that's what works for me.
