A fun, quick knit travel cup cozy!
The Sweatshop of Love meets at New Wave Coffee in Logan Square. Pretty much every class takes place at one or more of their tables, and they are happy hosts. People even
know us! When we’re seen knitting on the bus people ask if we are the knitting group that knits at New Wave. We’re famous!

So I thought, ‘Let’s all knit coffee cup cozies! We’ll look even cooler!’ And we’ll save New Wave a bunch of those paper cup cozies.

And here it is! The official Sweatshop of Love Cup Cozy. Even if you aren’t knitting with us at New Wave every night, you’ll be stylin’!

  • Step 1

    CO 28. P1 row.

    Row 1: K1, P1, K1, RT 11 times, K1, P1, K1. Row 2: K1, P1, K1, P to last 3 sts, K1, P1, K1. Row 3: K1, P1, K2, RT 10 times, K2, P1, K1. Row 4: Repeat Row 2.

Repeat these 4 rows until your cozy measures 7 1/2". BO all stitches.

  • Step 2

Seam. Your BO edge will be much looser than your CO edge, so keep an eye on your ends so they line up. If it helps, work yarn from both sides so they meet in the middle. Weave in your ends. Attach your buttons to the front opposite the seam. Keep it in your purse and slide it on every coffee you buy from now on! Especially at coffee shops where you'll be knitting.
