Here are some options to help you with starting a fishtail. -
Step 2Start off with brushed and untangled hair. All you'll need to do is make a fishtail braid going as far down as you can possibly braid. Use an elastic to tie it off.

Step 3Roll the fishtail inward as far up as you can get into your crown. Bobby pin the braid into your crown and you're all set!

My sister keeps wishing I would learn how to do a fishtail plait :/ So...when I've learnt how to do that, I'll definitely try this idea!
