I always had a thing for the black ones. My family's cats, over the years, have had at least one black male every litter. Once, we had a female who was almost solid black, she just had a white stripe up her nose, and one white 'eyebrow' mark. My dad called her a skunk, so I named her Flower after the skunk in Bambi. She was scrappy, really lanky, but tough. We gave her to a nice lady who had chihuahuas, and we knew she'd have those little poochies whipped into shape quick.
When we have a place of our own, with a good piece of land, I want to have lots of black or tortoiseshell cats. I'd like to get any older cats, especially 'ugly' ones, like missing an eye or ear, from shelters, too.

Awww. Theyre so cute! Your so lucky.
I want another cat so bad. >.< I've had cats my entire life. And my last cat AJ (who was like my baby) died a few months ago from old age ...and now my mom said we cant have anymore. Happy idk why, b/c i'm the one that takes care of them. Oh well.

DarkAsh Im sorry to hear about your cat!Loosing a pet is always a hard time!

Sheila my parents already call me the cat expert.Happy Because of the tail lifting.Im the only one who can tell if its a boy or a girl!Happy

We dont have any shelters around here,people throw their pets on the street.It makes me so sad,I would love to open a shelter in Temerin.But its not possible,I wouldnt have money to keep it working and people would give me a hard time about it,because you have to open it somewhere far away from "civilization" .My big dream is that one day I will make it happen.

Im always the one who keeps bringing cats and dogs home from the street.
Once I brought home a sick kitty from a village that is 3 hours drive away from Temerin.I taught my mom would kill me,but she got used to it.
Now with the babys that Im keeping included Im going to have 4 cats!Happy

vi - i agree with melissa, that's totally awesome...i really hope that one day your dream becomes a reality, so then all the lost strays can come to you for shelter ^_^ cos by the sounds of it, not a lot of people have your compassion...
talking of strays, we've aquired a cat...O_o he's absolutely gorgeous ( black and white ) and he's also neutered...and he's great with our kids esp. our 4 y/o...we were worried that some family/kids would be stressing about him...he didn't have a collar on him and he's a bit mucky, but he was still there in the back yard this morning when i got up...so i went and bought some bits for him (food, bowls, flea stuff, dewormer, etc) today...but we are encouraging him outside, just incase a family is fretting somewhere...

That is so sweet! I love the balck and white ones! It might be that his family moved away and he was left behind...so sad, but you are a lovely soul to take care of him! (((HUGS))) for you

It's funny the cats that i have brought home from Protectors of Animals or the humane society are the most loving cats...it's almost like they are greatful that you saved them! Happy

OMG Emmilou,
he looks just like my Ozkur!!! Right down to the lil goatee on the chin! The only difference is the black on the nose (she's a pink nose)!!!! I will load a picture so you can see!!!!
And he looks very happy and warm on the blanket that you have nicely provided for him!!!! Happy
