Learn how-to sew knickers in #ShopShowcase with Flo-Jo Boutique in Bristol.

How did you get started?

Our shop was a natural progression from the selling of our knicker making kits and hosting knicker making parties in different venues. Erika and myself had been working together for eight years previously from the shop opening, making clothes and selling from stalls, to shops and on line.

Where are you located?

We are on the wonderful Gloucester Road in Bristol. Full of exciting independent shops.

Which products do you specialise in?

We stock a wide range of cotton quilting and dressmaking fabrics. Including Alexander Henry,Michel Miller,Kokka, Dashwood Studios, Liberty Tana Lawns, and Riley Blake, amongst others! We also specialise in knicker elastics that compliment our knicker making kits in our haberdashery section.

Do you have a particular favorite product that you sell?

It's got to be our knicker kit!

What's on the stereo?

We listen to a varied collection of country, swing, soul, blues and folk music, with a sprinkle of disco!

Where else should we visit in your area?

You should pop across the road to La Ruca, they sell whole foods and have a lovely cafe upstairs. You can get the best bread at The Bread Store, best olives at the Olive Shed and freshest fish at The Fish Shop. After all that shopping you'll need a drink at The Gallimurfy listening to some live music!

Do you host any workshops, classes or special events?

We run regular dressmaking courses in the evening at the shop. At the weekend we run other workshops, sewing skills and other craft based ones like Lampshade making. We love the workshop being used and people pop into hire machines and overlockers.
We also have kids and teenage classes running and host sewing parties.
We put details of all of these onto our site.

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?

Our hen parties are really great fun and we love having complete novices go away feeling so pleased with their newly made creations...often knickers! We hope we inspire people to get creative and pass on the home made bug!
