Come behind the scenes at Salt & Lavender for a #KitchenTour and see Natasha's kitchen in Edmonton, Canada.

I love the island and the countertops!

Tell us about your kitchen?

My kitchen is a MASSIVE improvement on the kitchen I had throughout my 20s. It was a long time coming! It's not a huge space, but the island especially gives me plenty of workspace for prepping food and cooking. I definitely spend a lot of time here. It's basically connected to my living room.

What have you done to make your kitchen cosy, functional, beautiful or inspiring?

There wasn't too much that I had to do. When we were looking for a new place, the kitchen was a huge factor. I wanted to find a place where we didn't need to make any changes. I try to keep it relatively clear of clutter, and that makes it much more welcoming.

How do you keep organized while cooking?

I should clean as I go along, but I don't. My husband luckily is the magical cleaning fairy, so that definitely helps!!

Any tips & tricks for organising your pantry, fridge and ingredients?

Regularly declutter and be conscious of what you buy (I'm definitely not perfect at this!). It's no fun having to chuck out foodstuffs that you forgot you even bought. Always shop with a list and try to plan your meals out so food wastage is kept to a minimum.

Do you do a lot of cooking and what are your favourite dishes to make?

Yes, I do a lot of cooking, especially now that I have a food blog. These days I'm into making anything with my food processor. Dips are my favorite.

Where do you turn for new recipe ideas?

Since I have a food blog, I am on Pinterest a lot and also read a lot of other food blogs. I would say it's impossible to not be inspired by that. I'm always thinking about food so new recipe ideas are always floating around my head.

Do you plan out your recipes for the week or do you like to be spontaneous?

It depends. I always have a few planned out, especially since I post three new recipes a week for Salt & Lavender. I do like to have "fend for yourself" nights where we shop what's in the fridge/pantry. I also love to eat out so we make sure that we plan accordingly.

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make this your dream kitchen?

I would have it located in a hot/tropical city, have a bit more storage, and have a gas range.
