Bake a batch of Kahlúa Espresso Brownies, Carrot & Coconut Cake and Easy Fruit Scones with Teacup Kitchen in Manchester, England.

How did you get started?

Teacup began as a record shop nearly a decade ago, and has since transformed into a foodie favourite and powerhouse of the Northern Quarter. The restaurant is owned by acclaimed Manchester DJ, Mr Scruff, and his manager Gary McClarnan, both of whom are passionate about tea. Teacup serve one of the widest ranges of loose leaf teas available in the city, including a rolling selection of speciality Oolongs. Teacup serve artisan coffee and a winelist from Hanging Ditch.

Where are you located?

Right in the heart of Manchester's Northern Quarter

What are your specialities?

Loose leaf tea and cake. Our cakes are a mixture of classic favourites like Victoria Sponge and Rainbow cake; as well as unique flavour combos like White Chocolate & Poppy Seed and Carrot & Coconut

What's your personal favorite thing on the menu?

The Flourless Chocolate Cake made to our own special recipe, it’s so rich and delicious, such a treat!

What's on the stereo?

The music is complied by Mr Scruff, Dr Sid and Gary (the owner). They are a bunch of forty something music obsessives who find great joy in people's heads lifting to listen when they've never heard of some of the tracks on the list. There's 20 days worth of music on rotation. Most of what we've compiled is stuff we love, but also music that crosses the generations and is easy to listen to whilst having afternoon tea with the family or eating the sunday morning hangover cure with some strong black coffee.

Where else should we visit in your area?

Just round the corner is Bon Bon Chocolate Boutique which is the only chocolatier in Manchester to sell handmade chocolates made on the premises. Their hot chocolate is to die for!

Do you host any special events?
