DIY The Look

Maggie recreates the look of the 90s for today's #DIYTheLook.

I thought that the idea of combining the 90s aesthetic with the idea of a goddess, incorporating goddess-like jewelry and headpieces with the 90s flair. I am drawn to the 90s feel, and its how I dress a lot of the time too - I'm especially happy that plaids/ditzy florals and dark reds and brown lipstick are back in vogue because I think its such a "cool girl" look, and has just the right amount of edge to not veer on the side of two "sweet".

Hannah from The Outfit Repeater recreates the style of Nicole Richie for #DIYTheLook

Nicole Richie is a style icon to me because she has her finger on the pulse of cool. Her ensembles constantly surprise and inspire me. From boho chic to old Hollywood glam, there's nothing that girl can't wear!

Amy recreates the look of anime, Cardcaptor Sakura for #DIYTheLook

Sakura Cardcaptors is one of my favourite animes, which I watched every morning on TV when I was younger. Sakura’s costumes are iconic, and the fact that in the show they were made by her friend makes it very relevant to Cut out and Keep. Her style is feminine and fun, unlike anything people normally wear! The costumes were a big influence on my later interests in Lolita and Steampunk.

Ntina from Happy Girly Crafty creates an everyday modern girl look for #DIYTheLook

It's a selection of what an everyday modern girl who is always on the move would wear. Accesories that compliment a minimal but flirty outfit and have a touch of sparkle and gold! I love a touch of gold on everything, from jewelry to make-up! Also a delicious cup of coffee is always by my side!

Eileen from 5 Feet Of Style recreates the look of Winona Ryder in Heathers for #DIYTheLook

Heathers is such an iconic movie from the 80s and stars one of my style favourites, Winona Ryder. In the movie she rocks a black pinafore and off shoulder blouse which is totally on trend at the moment! This black pinafore tutorial is perfect to recreate her dress, while the tutorial for the off shoulder blouse is so simple. I've added tutorials to DIY her accessories, make up and hair so you'll be a Heather in no time yourself!
