DIY The Look

Kim recreates the quirky gothic style of actress Helena Bonham Carter.

I love Helena's quirky style and she is often photographed wearing muted dull colours with a soft yet elegant gothic twist. Her dusky makeup style perfectly compliments her face giving her a doll-like appearance but also at the same time makes her look sultry. I thought Id have a bit of fun with this one and spice her style up a bit by adding some vibrant colour in places and adding an aggressive edge. Though…...I just wish my hair would look as cool as her’s when i misplace my hair brush lol

Leeyong from Style Wilderness recreates the colourful traditional style of Mexican painter, Frida Kahlo.

I love Frida Kahlo's use of colour, flowers and traditional clothing at a time when other people were turning to standard western fashion like jeans and T-shirts. She really recognised how traditional Mexican outfits suited her and they became her signature look.

Pramodini Arela recreates the laid back style of actress Ashley Tisdale.

Ashley Tisdale has been one of my favorite celebrities not only because of her talent, but also her style. She tends toward slouchy and relaxed clothing, often wearing cardigans, leggings and some boots, which is similar to my style. However, her clothes are boring because they have some edge mixed in with spikes and metal embellishments adorning her outfits. In terms of hair, it is usually just down, with a braid, or thrown up into a topknot. Makeup-wise, she is natural during the daytime, but likes to spice it up with a darker smokey eye for the night. Overall, she is a great icon for easy, but fashionable clothing.

Melissa from Specs And The City recreates the vintage style of Betty Draper from Mad Men.

Betty Draper is by far the most feminine icon of a glamorous bygone era. She is complicated and constantly questioning the outdated ideals on which she was raised. She goes through such a journey of good and bad and everything in between, yet her sense of style NEVER has an off day. You've got to appreciate the effort in a world where sweatpants and slippers in public simply weren't an option. Here I've gathered all the essential tools to twirl in her perfect shoes. Full skirts, pearls, martinis, and apple pie make for my favorite version of Betty's style: the 1950's lonesome housewife. SO glamorous and tragic...the most beautiful contrasts.

Annlouise from Sequins in Pink recreates the chic style of pop princess Taylor Swift.

What I love with Taylor Swift's style is that she one day can have a black, tight, sexy dress and the next day a floral skirt and a cute bag. No matter what she wear, she is always well-dressed and her outfits are always perfectly composed.
