Craft Room Tours

Explore the craft rooms, studios & kitchens of crafters to see where they work and how they organise their supplies

Come behind the scenes at Melmaria Designs and tour Melody's cosy studio in New Hampshire.

My room, where my studio is, is actually an add-on space to our original house, and I love that it has wood floors and a slanted roof. The floors are easy to clean, and the roof makes it cozy.

Come behind the scenes at A Bouquet of Buttons and tour Lieke's sewing room in Antwerp, Belgium.

What I love the most is that I don't have to more around all my sewing stuff anymore. Most things have their proper space by now, so bye-bye trying to fit in all my sewing stuff into the clothing cupboard. And I'd also like to add something that I don't like. We live in a narrow but high house. So the sewing studio and out living room are on a different floor. And I must admit that I feel lonely inthere from time to time. It's also a big tradition from a small apartment (30 square meters) where there was no privacy unless you would spend your evening on the toilet, to being on a different floor.

Come behind the scenes at Mill Lane Studio and tour Myléne's studio & office in Brisbane, Australia.

The storage! I'm so lucky to have a wall of custom built cupboards - both underbench and overhead. Most of my general craft supplies are stored in plastic tubs which fit perfectly inside these cupboards which keeps the room clutter free. All my jewellery making supplies are kept in the mobile storage units which line two of the other walls. I use the top of these units for displaying my jewellery.

Come behind the scenes at Anykind for a tour of Jesse's work room in Norfolk, VA.

I love how open this room is and how much space I have. My work spaces before this room were a closet office type room and then a corner of our living room. So it's really nice to have enough room and surface space to spread out and work on a few different things at once. I also love the windows and natural light.

Come behind the scenes at Maggie Overby Studios and tour Maggie's Sewing & Craft Room in Heilsbronn, Germany.

My favorite thing about my space is that it has a door to close. I know that sounds silly but when I am in the middle of "making magic" it usually looks like something exploded in there. So a door means I can work and make a mess to my heart's content and when I'm done for the day close the door. When I first started sewing I actually sewed in a closet, since them I have worked my way up to a corner of the living room, then I took over the dining room, and now I finally have a room of my own. Having this space means I am free to create any time I’d like without worry of my work being disturbed.
