We head behind the scenes at Raising up Rubies to tour Jaime's colorful studio in Rochester, New York.

My favorite thing about the space is the size and the room to organize! to have a place for everything & everything in it's place ... well most of the time :)

Tell us about your space

My craft room is the first room you see when you come into our house, yikes... so we usually here a lot of ooohing & ahhhing when people walk in the front door. at almost 20 x 12 feet, the room has a huge presence in our home, but at the same time it is my workspace, so i try to keep a balance between keeping it functional & pretty ... and with such a large table i the middle of the room we often end up using it for games, homework, or lots of company!

It is my workspace! it also gets used for my monthly craft nights, with some of my best girls :) every kind of craft gets done in this room! i love paper crafts, sewing, home dec .... anything really, you name it, it's been made in here!

What have you done to make your space cosy, beautiful or inspiring?

I really wanted to make sure the room was pretty but functional, since it's the first thing you see when you come in... we installed a few bookshelves that we framed with molding and trim to make them look like built-ins, and added baskets, bins and jars. i found an old vintage filing cabinet that fits into the room so well as a piece, but serves as storage for all my fabric ... so thinking outside the box when it comes to storage in this room was helpful in keeping it fun & inviting.

How do you keep organized?

Numbers, labels, and see through containers help so much when trying to stay organized ... some baskets i've labeled with the contents and others just have numbers when they contain more generic supplies, unfinished projects, or a space for those extra things you might not have a place for yet.

Any tips & tricks for organising supplies?

Which are your favourite possessions and are there any of your own creations on display?

The big green chalkboard in the room is one of my favorite finds ... from a garage sale for $5! i can add garlands from my store to the top for fun and it keeps lists and to-do's for me .... and a place to keep my girls busy drawing sometimes! oh and that aqua typewriter ... i love that thing. but it serves no purpose. eye candy only :)

How do you organise your inspiration and ideas?

I keep a few notebooks that have doodles or clippings of things that inspire me, but mostly Pinterest! i have huge boards and so many pins, i'll be crafting for forever.... and i'm so inspired by other bloggers and etsy shop owners to keep striving to be unique and refreshing as a handmade artist!

Where do you look for inspiration?

3 wishes for my craft space?! a little bit more storage room, a bright bold colored rug and for it to magically always clean itself :) that's all.

If you had three wishes, what would you do to make it the dream space?
