thrown together in a day or two of art binge
I had an old Toulouse L'autrec calendar that I loved and wanted to do something with. I also had this little canvas that has just been sitting in my closet pouting at me for the past couple of years. On top of that, I also had a dining room with precious few decorations that I actually liked in it, and a pretty big fixation with mermaids. With all those things together, a little acrylic paint, some paste and spray varnish, the mermaid and the fish king was born. I quite enjoy that her painted body is made up of pieces cut from a crumbling shakespeare book of mine (the boring forward at the beginning that I don't give a crap about) I am quite smitten with it, and already itching to make another.
