This is my signature cake! I'm half Mexican and always love going to weddings and birthdays to get tres leches cake. Last winter break I decided I wanted the cake and took matters into my own hands. I ended up making a non-traditional cake, but it turned out to be a hit!
I am far too lazy to make a how to or post a recipe, but essentially it is a four-layered vanilla sponge cake imbibed with the tres leches sauce (a mixture of three types of milk). I slivered strawberries and tossed them in homemade whipped cream and put this mixture betwixt the layers. After the layers were all stacked up I covered the cake in whipped cream and decorated with strawberries! Very nom-tastic, if I do say so myself.
