  • How to fold an origami card. Origami Shirt Father's Day Card - Step 1
    Step 1

Origami rocks! Just saying. I’ve wanted to do some origami for a while but wanted a fairly simple one to start with. Well this fits the bill. It’s so cool, just like dad!
Start with an 8 ½ by 11 inch piece of decorative craft/scrapbooking paper. What kind of shirt “fabric” would dad like? Choose a funky pattern! He will love it.

On the blank side of the paper have the kids write their message to dad (don’t forget that the other men in their lives would love to have one too, like grandpa!).

Fold the paper in half the long way, hot dog direction, with the note inside the folded paper.

Open the paper up and fold each long edge into the center fold of the paper.

    Step 5

Fold the top of each folded piece out into a long triangle shape. This looks like it will be the collar, but it is actually the sleeves!

    Step 6

Turn the paper over and rotate 180 degrees.
Fold the top edge (opposite of the sleeves) down about ½ inch.

    Step 7

    Turn the paper over again.
Fold the top two corners in to the center so that the points touch about ½ inch from the top. This will form the collar of the shirt.

    Step 8

Fold the bottom edge up and slip that bottom edge under the collar points. Crease the bottom edge and it will remain folded.
Isn’t that the cutest…ahem…most handsome shirt ever?
