Quick and easy graduation money holder made from an origami Masu box with lid. Customize with your school colors. United States paper money, rolled up in the "diploma", fits diagonally in the box.

    Step 1

    Cut three squares of cardstock: 6.5" , 6", and 3.5".

    Make a Masu box with a lid from the larger two pieces of card stock.

    Instructions for making the box are not included here, as there are slews of directions and videos on the web. Search: "Masu box with lid."

    Glue the 3.5" square to the lid of the box, diagonally.

    Make a tassel with the embroidery floss. Again, instructions are not included here but are easily found by searching "embroidery floss tassel."

    Glue tassel to center of lid, covering string end with a small circle of cardstock.

    Print or write your sentiment on lightweight white paper and trim to 2.75: x 6.5".

    Roll up paper and currency together and tie with a small ribbon.
    If you have a tiny rubber band (I used one from tooth braces) you can use that--with or without a ribbon.
