much needed foot stool ~ cheap and easy
I found this Ikea end table beside the dumpster at my apartment complex.... I love Seattle...
It was in need of a good coat of spray paint. I already own two of these brand new and in good condition. What I really needed was a foot stool...
1- I over sprayed the table with a flat black to match my other furniture.
2- I glued the old pillow to the top of the table... I had to open it and spread it out a bit, make sure the padding covers the entire top.
3- I cut out a square of fabric, leaving enough extra to reach a few inches under the table.
4- I used little pieces of duck tape to position the fabric on the bottom of the table, then stable gun into place.
5- Fold the corners in, trimming the excess stuffing and fabric. Staple the fabric at the top of the legs. Trim off the excess fabric.
6- Glue with hot glue gun, the ribbon or cording to cover the raw edges and staples at the top of the legs.
Put your feet up on your new footstool!
I did this so quickly I didn't even think of taking photos for cut out and keep till I was done.... but I think it is pretty self explainatory...!
