• Step 1

  Donut
  With A and larger hook, ch 54. Join with sl st to 1st ch to form ring, being careful not to twist ch. Place marker for beg of rnd.
  Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around—54 sc. Do not join, rather work in a continuous spiral.

  Fasten off A. Join B.
  Rnd 36: Working in BLO, sc in each st in rnd 34. Do not join. (Photo 1).

  Rnd 42: Sc in each sc around, join with sl st in next st. Fasten off B. Join C.
  Rnds 43–44: Sc in each sc around.
  Rnd 45: Sc in each sc around, join with sl st in next st. Fasten off C. Join B.
  Rnds 46–59: Sc in each sc around.
  Rnd 60: [invdec, sc in next 16 sc] 9 times—153 sc. Rnd 61: [invdec, sc in next 15 sc] 9 times—144 sc. Rnd 62: [invdec, sc in next 14 sc] 9 times—135 sc.   Weave in short end of foundation ch.

• Step 2

  Sprinkles (make 22)
  With smaller hook and desired color, ch 3, join with sl st to 1st ch to form ring. Place marker for beg of rnd.
  Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 8 sc in ring—8 sc. Do not join, rather work in a continuous spiral.
  Rnd 2: Sc in each sc around.
  Rep rnd 2, stuffing lightly as you go, until piece is 3.5" (9 cm) long, join with sl st in next st. Fasten off, leaving a tail 24" (61 cm) long. Thread tail through 8 sts and pull to close. Weave in the short end.

• Step 3

  Assembly
  Whipstitch the last rnd of donut to foundation ch, using 1 yd
  (1 m) of A at a time and stuffing donut as you go. (Photo 3).
  Sew 10 sts at a time and be sure that stuffing is full and smooth before sewing further.
  Sew sprinkles to donut as desired.
