Make a small cut at the top of the carton on two opposite sides. You can make the holes on the same side as the circles. String the ribbon though those small holes. This ribbon will be used to hang the bird feeder on a tree or wherever is convenient for you.

    Step 5

Cut two pieces of scrapbook paper to grue them on the "roof". I needed dimensions 2 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ but depending on what kind of milk carton you use, you might need different dimensions. Glue one piece of scrapbook paper to the flat side. On the other paper, you'll need to cut the hole for the cap. Remove the cap, see where the hole should be and cut that circle out. Glue the paper on the milk carton and put the cap on.

On the back of the scrapbook paper, make two 3 1/2″ x 2″ rectangles. Using a black permanent marker, draw the lines to make it look like windows. Cut them out and glue them to both sides of the milk carton that don't have holes.

    Step 9

Make a small hole under each big hole and push the dowel through. The dowel should stick out on each side. This will allow birds to easily land and nibble from the feeder. If you want, you can cover the milk carton in a layer of Mod Podge or use a clear spray to make it weather resistant. Now that your bird feeder is finished, you can fill it with bird seed and hang it for the birds to enjoy!
