Turn a party into a masquerade with these simple, easy to-make party favors!

I'm hosting a summer night masquerade at my house and knowing some people might not have a mask, I decided to make a few paper masks to hand out as keep-sakes. :)

  1. Step 1 1

    Gather your supplies:
    Scrap piece of paper
    Poster paper
    Pencil
    Scissors
    Exacto Knife
    Ribbon or elastic

    Optional:
    Markers and stickers etc. :)

  2. Step 2 2

On a scrap piece of paper, draw an appropriate eye-hole shape. You want it to be big enough to see out of comfortably. I gave a few examples of stylish eyes.

  3. Step 3 3

Cut out the eye you like best.

  4. Step 4 4

Take the piece of paper to your face and look through it. With a pencil make a mark approximately where your other eye is.

  5. Step 5 5

Fold the piece of paper so that the hole is over the mark made by your pencil, then trace the eye hole and cut it out.

  6. Step 6 6

Draw the outline of the mask on one side of the folded paper and cut it out.

  7. Step 7 7

    This will be your template.

  8. Step 8 8

Use this template to trace out your design several times on your poster paper.

  9. Step 9 9

Cut out the masks using the exacto knife to cut out the eye holes.

  10. Step 10 10

Cut appropriately sized pieces of ribbon (or elastic). You will need 2 pieces of ribbon per mask (or one piece of elastic per mask)

  11. Step 11 11

cut small slits on both sides of each mask and tie the ribbon to each end.

  12. Step 12 12

Optional: Decorate the mask with markers and stickers.

You've got yourself an array of fun party masks!
