Have old cd artwork just sitting in a drawer somewhere? MAKE COASTERS!!!
I don't know why more people aren't making these. They're soo simple and turn out AWESOME. So I guess it's time for me to start making money with them.

I have a tendency to keep things. Hoard if you will. I didn't want to be like the old lady in the Labyrinth, carrying everything she's ever owned on her back so I decided, instead of letting all of my old cd artwork sit in a drawer for the rest of my life-that i'd actually start using them so I could have something functional from something I love. So I made a set of my OWN coasters!

Trial and error from the guitar string wrappers really helped. This craft was made with the same idea as the guitar string coasters, but i skipped the step of mod podging the top of the images as well (1. because the art work was on much thicker paper, reducing the chance of moisture leaking into the paper and 2 because 12 layers of spray sealant are really enough.)

So here's my 2nd attempt at coasters-and i'm pretty stoked with them, hope you are too!

feel free to email/comment any questions or tips you have to share :)

also i taped off the sides of the coasters while spraying the sealant to avoid drips drying and looking like a glazed donut. After the tops of the coasters were sealed to my liking, i removed the tape. I sprayed some of the sealant into a small container and hand painted it on the sides to ensure 100 % coverage and an overall even appearance. Happy
