The Big-Ass Book of Crafts by Mark Montano

Published by Simon & Schuster

The Big-Ass Book of Crafts is packed with ideas for sprucing up your living space; concocting fabulous, all-natural body products; designing your own unique stationery; and creating countless other crafts that will convince your friends and loved ones that you're the secret love child of Martha Stewart (only much, much cooler). Forget crocheted doilies and itchy knit sweaters -- TLC's While You Were Out top designer Mark Montano has created stylish and imaginative projects that range from a Warhol-esque Ultrasuede iPod case to photo-adorned boxer shorts to African mask patio chairs to wooden night-light boxes. Divided into sections that include Outdoorsy (ideas to enhance your backyard), Dishing It Out (decorating plates using different techniques), You've Been Framed...

Instructions

  1. Step 1 1

so basically, you grab an old book, or news paper clippings, or pages from a magazine, whatever you'd like.

  2. 2

then you cut the pages however you like. then you laminate the pages. i didnt really want to spend all the money for the laminator paper stuff, so i just taped both sides with clear packaging tape. =)
then you hole punch them. you can play around with the placement of the hole.
then you can either use paper clips, or ornament hooks to attach them together

  3. 3

in the book, he taped the whole thing to a light fixture on his ceiling. but i dont have anything like that. so i had to make some contraption to hang it =)

  4. 4

then i just taped the tops the to wooden dowels.

  5. Step 5 5

then you just set up the lights, then wham! you've got light!
