Prayers Please!

A lot of you are aware that my very good friend Matt passed away this last year from cancer. It has been a tough year for me. I've lost a lot over the summer-- more than I could ever say on this board.

My uncle was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer a couple of months ago and stage 4 basically means its the end of the line. He was hospitalized tonight and it isn't looking good. My mum is really in a bad state. So I am asking for prayers for my uncle, his wife and my mother- to whatever deity you pray to. We'll take them all.

Thanks Michelle.

My uncle went into hospice today and I went to see him for the first time since he found out he has cancer (about 2 months ago). It's really in the final stage of it. I pretty much left knowing that it was likely I wouldn't ever see my fun loving, happy uncle again which is sad. I'm pretty exhausted and feel horrible because I got short with a few people today more so than usual. I lack patience with people on a regular basis but it was more than usual today.

The hardest thing today though wasn't in seeing my uncle, it was seeing my aunt. Knowing that she is preparing to lose her husband is heartbreaking. I can't imagine having the strength she has had. It's more sad to think of her than it is to think of him.
