Board Changes

I was very suprised to see that a topic i started on where to get material was now in a "city guide" section
like essex debs, not sure that section is necessary. i also think that some topics dont quite fit in the categories that they are now in.
swaps closer to the top too would be good

also, i think that there are loads of boards now. i wasnt sure where to put a new topic, it came under a couple of different categories

There is a loooot of new categories, but I like it! It looks nice, but I think it'll take me a little bit to get used to.

I think it'll take some getting used to, but over all I like the new set up. Everything is going to be easier to find now that there are more specific categories. :3
I do miss the rant section however. :<

The city guides section could be useful to share crafting experiences in a city you know - eg workshops, craft shops etc

I see we have pop up adds back as well.

What is even more annoying is that it covers the prime viewing and typing field the Lt hand bottom corner of my screen.

I'm actually planning to take a wee break from CO+K and the current changes are really making me consider whether I will be continue to use the site.

yes i've noticed that, and a white stone background.
If i could make a request to have the background darker as 1. when i have migraines harsh bright backgrounds make them worse, even with the brighness on my computer screen turned to its lowest and 2. darker colours on screen are more eco-friendly. it uses less power.

a suggestion for the future: announce that there will be changes and see if people like the idea of the changes or not.

I'm finding the whitish stone background really difficult to look at...too bright and for some reason makes the posts more difficult to read (maybe just my eyes??)
I think there are too many topics now, and perhaps sewing(dressmaking)/ needlework could be combined into one, also knitting/crochet, fashion/hair and beauty, art/ photography, could be combined this would make fewer categories.
Some really old posts have now been put near the top of the topic boards, for example in needlework the top post was one I started over a year ago...there has been another reply lately but it was at the top before that.
I also think city guides topic is unnecessary.
It would be better if the most popular topics , the ones that get the most posts,were nearer the top eg. the swap thread.

I have enjoyed this site so much! You can change it however you like, I will still keep coming back as long as you dont mess with our favorites list. I often refer to it when im all out of ideas and in a crafting mood.

I agree with the many others that have recommended that the swap thread be moved closer to the top of the page. I'm not extremely fond of 'City Guides' being at the top of the board as it's not a topic that many seem to be using and it's sort of unrelated to the main purpose of the website.
